Currently I am on staff at the International Mission Board in Richmond, VA as a Youth Specialist (which basically means I am the Youth Pastor for Missionary Kids.) I have been in this role for about 3½ years and was previously in Tokyo, Japan for 4½ years as a missionary on staff with Tokyo Baptist Church as Associate Pastor for Youth & Singles Ministries. I met my wife in Tokyo as she was doing her graduate studies at a Japanese University. We were married in 2001, at her home church in Manila, Philippines. I have been in Youth Ministry for about 20 years and been on staff at two other churches in the Lynchburg, VA, area. I graduated from Liberty University with a B.A. in Religion with an emphasis in Youth Ministries. My youth ministry experience also includes working as a Case Aide in a group home for troubled teens, and working in a public middle school and high school as a coach and athletic trainer. My wife and I are members at Staples Mill Road Baptist Church and sing in the choir and have taught children’s Sunday school and work with the youth ministry.
