Jewelery
God wants all we are and all we do to honor him and advance his kingdom. The more we are in tune with him, the more we will want everything we say, everything we do, and even everything we wear to honor God. That doesn’t mean we are to be drab. Not at all! He has made us creative people, and we can express that creativity in a zillion different ways. The question is: are we doing it to get attention for ourselves or to honor God?
Peter wrote to women: “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” (I Peter 3:4-4) God values your heart most of all. If you love him and want to honor him, you will be open to his wisdom and direction.
Here are some guidelines about jewelry:
- Focus on what’s inside, not on the outside.
- Express your creativity, but don’t do it just to get attention.
